Process Paper
Our topic we chose was Theodore Roosevelt and the Conservation of the National Parks. This was chosen because the history of the national parks was found to be an interesting topic that caught our eye, and learning what Roosevelt had accomplished to help each national park to become a better environment for humans and its habitat. Learning that Roosevelt saved important history, and created 5 national parks was extremely interesting. Amanda and I learning about the history of the national parks would help us in the future history classes. We researched the history of the national parks, and took information that led to Roosevelt’s accomplishments, turning points, and changes to the park. Checking out many books, letters, and going on the websites for more information and pictures, we conducted the information and learned what Roosevelt did to help and contribute. Finding that Roosevelt had a national park of his own and contributed hugely to Yellowstone National Park was one of his big accomplishments in his life. We decided that accomplishing a website was the best way of presenting our project and explaining it. We made tabs for each item that we found needed explaining and what we had to do for the criteria. Organizing each bit of information into tabs and explaining what Roosevelt did in the website. The project relates to the NHD topic because Roosevelt's turning point in the parks helped save the wildlife, plantation, and land. He saved the the endangered species from vanishing from the parks, so they could repopulate and still exist. This was a turning point for the national parks, so it could still stand beautiful and strong with animals people around the world would love to enjoy.
